Appearance
Supervise
Tracked Groups → Supervise. The command centre: every group you can see, and its current standing, on one wall.
What it is for
The dashboard answers what is the figure. Supervise answers is anything wrong, anywhere. It is the screen to leave up on a wall or a second monitor, because it is built to be read at a glance from across a room rather than studied.
What it shows
Every tracker group you are whitelisted on, with the standing of the items and parameters inside it. Anything that has crossed an alert threshold, gone stale, or stopped reporting is surfaced rather than left to be found.
Not every parameter appears here
Supervise plots figures against a plan, interval by interval. Two kinds have nothing to plot:
- Parameters whose goal is
Reading— there is no target to plot against. - Range-based computed parameters, worked out once over a whole period rather than interval by interval. Read them on Reports → Period, or on their dials on the dashboard.
A text, date or signature field has no number at all, so it is not a candidate either. If a parameter you expected is missing from Supervise, check its goal before treating it as a fault — it is still in reports.
It updates itself
Like the dashboard, Supervise is live. A reading recorded anywhere in the operation lands here without anybody refreshing.
That is the point of the screen — a wall display that needs somebody to press a button is a wall display showing yesterday.
The plan line
Each reading is held to the plan in force on its own day, so the PLAN line steps on the day the plan changed. The Plan column shows the plan as typed — 100 → 120 where it changed in the period — and a line under the table says when: Target changed on 15 Oct: 100 → 120. Under active supervision, the readings still to come are held to today's plan.
Reading it
Groups that are quiet stay quiet. Attention is drawn by exception:
- an item whose latest reading has crossed a rule
- a parameter that should have been read by now and has not been
- a group with nothing coming in at all
A group showing nothing is not necessarily healthy. Check whether readings are arriving at all before treating silence as good news — this is the same principle as a missing reading is not a zero.
Access
Supervise honours the same whitelist as everything else. It is a wider view, not a way around the boundary — a group you are not on does not appear here either.
